"Kaxo?" asked Tyson.
"No time!" said Manthadon. "Hurry! We must find shelter, before they find us!"
A screech echoed throughout the forest. The Kaxo were getting closer. They were at the top of their hunting attitude. They sniffed for meat. It was not far off. "MMM-GRRRRRRR-EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" screamed the chieftain, indicating that certain victory was at hand.
"Those demons are catching up!" said Tyson. "Where do we hide?"
"This cave is the only place I see. Let's move!" Manthadon pushed Tyson in and dove in after him. The Kaxonian hunting party was close. Manthadon covered the cave's entrance with leaves just as the Kaxonians came. They looked around and growled menacingly. Where had the humans gone? Had they vanished?
Manthadon slid to the back of the cave with Tyson. "They're right outside. Don't move."
The monsters sniffed. Human flesh was close. They walked right in front of the leaves and sniffed. The captain brushed them aside with his dagger. He walked in. No humans. He screeched in defeat, and the hunters ran off.
"There, now we're safe," said Manthadon.
"Geez, that was close!" said Tyson. "I'm glad you found this crevice."
"Oh, it's nothi-WHOA!" The cave floor gave way. A hole opened up in front of them. They fell in.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh," said Darsullus, sighing contentedly. He had just finished his meal...the Kaxonian captain. "That will teach fools who come back empty-handed, eh, Yarg?"
The little beast, a Zingi, chirped. They were kept as pets by rich people. The strange creature hopped over to Darsullus and into his lap. "We'll show those nasty Kaxonians, right?" The Zingi chirped. "Yes! We will take all life and make it our own!"
"Chikeeeeeeeee!"
"What's this? You're hungry? You want some roasted traitor? Here you go, Yarg." The Zingi munched happily on the remains of the Kaxo captain. "None stand before Darsullus!"
