A Murder Poem

I looked out at the dark, dark hill.
A shadow shone through the window, one that looked like my friend Bill.
The figure spotted me, came into my house, and got ready to kill.
Then, I saw that it was really Bill.
I saw his eyes flash with delight
As I felt a stab in my back without much of a fight.
When I rose up to heaven, I saw the light
Shed by blessed God, powerful with might.
So, as I departed that dark, dark hill,
I just cried, as I departed my dear wife, Lil.
