camp new dreams pt 2 by mary
it was a bright sunny day where the campers were playing in the sand making sand castles except for cubby sitting underneath the tree. ellisa approached cubby and said cubby please play with sussie and me in the sand said ellisa. cubby replied no thank you ellisa i am waiting for lucy to bring mary our camp counselor back to camp this morning. ellisa looked hurt and went back to playing in the sand with sussie and darlene said cubby you have hurt ellisa's feelings she needs your love and companionship since she misses denise a lot honey said darlene to cubby. darlene said cubby if you promise to play with ellisa and sussie i will promise to let you know when mary comes in honey so cubby said ok. so darlene brought cubby over to ellisa and sussie and said ellisa cubby didn't mean to hurt your feelings sweetie do you still want cubby to play with you and sussie in the sand? elisa smiled at darlene and said cubby is welcome to play with us said ellisa smiling at darlene and darlene walked away so cubby ellisa and sussie played in the sand. ellisa looked at cubby with an angry look on her face but cubby didn't know what ellisa's angry look meant. lucy pulled into the camp driveway and parked the car and got out of the car and mary opened the other door herself and came out and darlene said campers mary is back at camp and cubby ran up to mary and darlene whispered into mary's ears that cubby has hurt ellisa's feelings when ellisa asked cubby to play with her and sussie in the sand this morning said darlene smiling at mary. mary said cubby honey i know you love and missed me while i was in the hospital but you'll have to start socializing with campers your age and besides ellisa and sussie need your love now cubby said mary placing cubby at ellisa's table and cubby said mary please sit next to me and mary said cubby i'm sorry but i promised matt and lucy i would eat breakfast with them this morning. mary walked away and sat down next to matt and lucy. cubby looked hurt. matt said thanks mary for insisting on cubby sitting with her bunkmates this morning said matt smiling at mary. then cubby pinced ellisa real hard and then sussie said cubby come here please so cubby went over to sussie and sussie bit cubby real hard in the arm for pinching ellisa. cubby started crying but noone came over to her. breakfast was finnished and mary said please no pinching or biting please your excused from breakfast. mary retrieved cubby and said shh that will mend in time honey and cubby started crying and mary said cubby you shouln't have pinched ellisa and that's why sussie bit you since you have hurt her sister ellisa honey said mary smiling at cubby. during dinner time sussie did something to get back at cubby with ellisa's help they spread this awful rumor around the camp lodge that when cubby first attended camp she left a poop pile in the camp lodge that afternoon and everyone that heard the rumor started laughing at cubby when she went to sit down at ellisa's table anf linda approached cubby and said you smell like poop cubby she wrinkled her nose at cubby. cubby ran out of the lodge she felt hurt that ellisa and sussie betrayed her secret to all the campers that were laughing then mary stood up and said that's enough poking fun of your campmates ellisa, linda, and sussie you are dismissed from dinner go back to your bunks this instant said mary raising her voice at the three girls. matt escorted ellisa sussie, and linda back to the cabin and ellisa said when mary was yelling at us in front of the campers i felt embarrassed matt said ellisa crying and matt said think how poor cubby felt when you started that rumor about her in the camp lodge tonight ellisa. sussie said mary likes cubby more than she likes us said sussie to matt and matt said sussie mary has no special pets here at camp she loves everyone here sussie said matt smiling at her. mary approached cubby and cubby burried her head into mary's lap and said how could ellisa and sussie make me look bad in front of the campers at dinner time asked cubby. mary said cubby i'm sure ellisa sussie and linda didn't mean to hurt your feelings and by the way why did you pinch ellisa and cubby said i was angry that you didn't want to sit next to me for breakfast mary you hurt my feelings this morning. mary said oh cubby i'm sorry i hurt your feelings but i will sit with you for dinner tonight honey said mary carrying cubby back into her cabin. when mary was about to leave cubby started crying and mary said what's wrong cubby? cubby said ellisa and sussie do not like me anymore since they are still lasughing about me said cubby attaching herself to mary's leg and ellisa said sussie look whose retured pampers cubby afraid to stay with us said ellisa laughing with sussie and cubby was real angry with ellisa and sussie but ignored them and sat on the floor crying like a baby for 2 hrs and then linda fetched mary and told her ellisa and sussie are hurting cubby real badly she is crying harder now said linda looking at mary with a worried look on her face and mary followed linda back to cubby's cabin and when mary opened the door she was shocked at seeing what ellisa and sussie did to cubby that evening. mary started yelling at both ellisa and sussie and said you are on restriction for one week ellisa and sussie you will be allowed to eat in the lodge with us and sing camp songs with us but you have lost your freetime priveledges where you will be spending your free time in your cabin writing an apology to miss cubby while the other campers participate in their choice of activities poor cubby was trying to share her sympathetic love with you ellisa and sussie you two i'm very disappointed in both of you girls tonight since you both know better said mary raising her voice at ellisa and sussie. darlene waled into cubby's unit and said why are you yelling at ellisa and sussie tonight mary asked darlene and mary said darlene look what ellisa and sussie did to poor cubby tonight honey. darlene also scolded ellisa and sussie and you two girls should feel ashamed of yourself for doing that to cubby tonight and i'm going to restrict you both from the camp fire songs tonight for a week and a half ellisa and sussie. said darlene looking cross at ellisa and sussie. linda walked in and ellisa saidd thanks tattle tail linda you got us in real trouble tonight and mary said ellisa i'm losing my patience with you how would you like to be restricted for additional two weeks? ellisa said mary i'm sorry i called linda a tattle tail so please don't restrict me for longer than a week and a half please said ellisa smiling at mary and mary said that will be fine sweetie said mary leaving with cubby. mary brought cubby to the infirmary and sat and talked with cubby for a long time until visiting hrs were over mary hugged and kissed cubby goodnight and cubby gave mary a big teddy bear hug and said mary at least i have you as a friend said cubby smiling at mary. mary smiled at cubby and said goodnoght princess cubby sweet dreams see you tomorrow honey goodnight and she said goodnight matt. matt said goodnight mary nurse kim is coming back tomorrow afternoon so i'll have an extra pair of hands helping and working with me tomorrow afternoon said matt smiling at mary.
