The Great Flood

Mum, Dad, Susannah, Georgia, David and I were at Indooroopilly Shopping centre having lunch. When we walked past a T.V shop that had what it looked like outside on the news. There was a FLOOD! We were so shocked that mum fainted. When she woke up about 10 minutes later she remembered she’d left the guinea pigs on the grass
. We hadn’t brought our car so we had to wait half an hour for a bus. The bus stop was inside so we couldn’t see the flood and how high it was.
Finally the bus came and the flood was half a metre deep.
Meanwhile the guinea pigs escaped and were floating around somewhere. Back on the bus we were turning into our street. When we got home we swam through the water. I couldn’t find the guinea pigs anywhere. After tea it was dark so we had to go to bed.
In the morning we looked for the guinea pigs. Mum said we could have a day off school. After lunch I heard a squeaking in the tree. I swam out and saw all the guinea pigs holding onto branches. I wondered how they got up there out of their cage. I never found out.
The End
