feeling free

touch the bottom
the only place to go
is up

touching the sky

down again
feel like an arrow
shooting
deep deep
water
slaps my body
hard
doesn't faze me
reaching
higher and higher
rising
up up up
free
for only a second
only a miniscule fraction
of a
long long
life
and in that moment
the world disappears
the water is gone
and there is only me
only me
in a world of water
but where am i
the water surrounds me
cascading
down from the sky
and then i'm back
everything's back
and i am
falling falling
in a pool of
night
clear blue skies and
a hazy orange moon
and i am scared
but so peaceful
i drift down
down down down
and my legs
are dipped in the
water
cool clear water
and all of a sudden
the night is gone
and i struggle
with the jaws of the earth
her majestic royalty
ladywater
and i am so frightened
but eventually
she sees who i am
and that i will not give up
without another fight
so she lets me
drift off
into the night
into the water
and i am
lost
but at ease
with ladywater
i have fought the jaws of the earth
and won
and i am suddenly
not where i am
was
where am i
water surrounds me
clear
cold
i am rising again
up up up
into the sky
blue blue sky
into the castles
of clouds
down again
into the water
swimming
breast stroke
back stroke
flips
curves
diving
all over again
