Mark closed his eyes, imagining that all this had never happened, that he was still sitting on the beach collecting shells and then skipping them as far as he could. Nevertheless, he opened the book, and opened his eyes. The bright light of the sun shown down on the book. However, when Mark looked to read it, he found that it was blank.

“But I thought that…” said Mark who was faintly interrupted by Noah.

“That’s it young child, you thought, and maybe that is why this book has come to your care.”

“But it’s only blank!” exclaimed Mark, who still didn’t understand.

“It can say whatever you want it to.” began Noah. “But just as you will live the story, you must choose the ending, and the choice will be difficult.” whispered Noah.

Mark seemed to understand, although not fully. Mark realized that the adventure he was beginning would be filled with agony. He would have to find an escape. He smiled for he had a plan.
