Have you ever done or tried something that you thought you could never ever do? Like
maybe you tried playing football for the first time and you could never punt the stupid
ball. Or maybe you didn't practice at all for a spelling test and you think you'll totally
flunk on it. Or like, maybe you're in the Junior Olympicks and when you get to the
starting line for the first race your face gets hot, you start to swet and your legs feel like
rubber and your not quite sur if you stretched enough.
Suddenly, though, the P.E. teacher turns her back and you see that your partner's
shorts are on inside out! You kick the ball and let out a tremendos burst of
laughter. The ball flys swiftly in the air straight at your partner.
Your english teacher begins to say the words aloud and you suddenly
remember the first one! You quickly write it down.
You then see your best friends, your mother and father, and your cheering
school all smiling and yelling your name. You stare ahead at the finish
line. Your muscels tighten. The shot rings out and you speed off to
the finish line as if you are walking on air!!!
This, that you're feeling, that you are scensing, is called. . .
the glimmer of hope.
