CHAPTER 1 The Mountains Of Everston
"Hurry up you two!" Epesth urrged.
"Oh shut it already!" Tarokee growled.
Mekie came up beside the 2 in a mountain goat form. "AWWWW, to Baaaaddd. My brothers can't use theeeeiiiirrrrr powers to help them!" She replied the goat's mouth forming into an ockward grin.
"Oh shut-up Mekie!" Tarokee grunted as he heaved himself up onto the edge of a steep rock.
"SHHH! Both of you! I think I heard something!" Epesth whispered.
One moment Tarokee was there, the next, he was gone. Mekie shrunk untill she was a rabbit.
The three kids ran behind a bolder. Of course if you were to see them all it looked like was a young man with hevy animal skins, a bow and knife with his pet rabbit.
"What do you see Epesth?" Mekie asked.
"SHHHH! ONAXE!"
Onaxe were fearsome creatures. They were like over-grown Oxen, but
stood upright like humans. They held arrows and they killed
ANYONE who got in their way.
“How far away are they?” Tarokee asked.
“So close that if we keep talking they will surely find us!” Growl-
whispered Epesth.
After that no one talked for a while. . .
Then, a blood curdling scream echoed through-out the Mountains!
“What the heck?” Epesth leaped up and looked around. The scream
had come from the North, in front of them.
“I don’t see anything over hear!” Torakee called to our far left.
“Torakee! What are you doing over there?!” hissed Epesth.
“What do you thing I’m doing? Going to sleep?” Torakee asked hotly.
“Come on you guys! We need to find out what that was! It didn’t
sound human.” Mekie pleaded.
“Well, isint that a surprise?” Epesth replied sarcastically. “The world
only has 100,000,000 million of us left.”
“We need to find out what it was.” Mekie said.
“Alright.” Epesth finally said turning to face his sister. “WHOA!” he
cried as soon as he saw that she had become a white and black tiger.
Torakee snickered to his left.
“Oh shut. . .” Epesth was silenced by another scream. This one
sounded worse.
“COME ON!” Cried Mekie and she took off in great leaps.
The three came to a steep mountain peek.
“Careful you guys.” Epesth replied coming up to the top of the peek
and looking down.
“Whoa!” Bellow them was a huge castle, surrounded by Onaxe. And
not only that but a huge forest and a river of Lava.
“Looks like someone doesn’t want anyone getting in or out.” Torakee
said.
“Come on!” Mekie cried stepping further down the peek.
“Mekie, wait! We should go around!” Epesth replied. “Mekie, NO!”
“WHOA! Epesth! Torakee! HELP!” Mekie had begun to slide right
over the edge!!
“MEEKKKIIIIEEEEE!!!!!!” Torakee, after turning himself to non-
invisible, made a dive for the edge.
“NO!” Epesth grabbed his brother by the shirt and yelled,
“ESCAPATHICK!” Bright hot fire shot out of his arm and down the
side of the mountain. . .
The fire shot past Mekie and struck boulders. It was so hot that the
boulders just melted away into lava. Luckily, Mekie had enough time
to change into an eagle, RIGHT before she hit the ground.
“Whao. That was close.” She called.
“MUCH too close.” Epesth corrected.
“Uhhhh, you guys, we have a problem!” Mekie spoke.
“What now?” Tarokee asked.
“The Onaxe have spotted us.” . . .
