Please, Don’t Be Mad At Me

I see him pass by,
he ignores me.

I say “Hello” to him,
he nods silently.

I catch his eye,
we stare only for a second.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What happened?
Where did it all go wrong?
Was it something I did,
or said?
Whatever the reason,
I didn’t mean it!
Please, don’t be mad. . .
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I ask him a question,
ha acts like a teacher.

I laugh and tease him,
yet he doesn’t smile.

I see a stern face,
but yet from his eyes,
I know he wants to give in.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What happened?
Where did it all go wrong?
Was it something I said,
or did?
Whatever the reason,
I didn’t mean it!
Please. . . don’t be mad. . .
Don’t be mad. . .
at me. . .
