What’s Up? Poem/song
Hey girl, sitting at the table
Wind wiping at her face
Her hair blinding her.
Her blue eyes show the sadness of this world
Dressed in black, she is always mourning
For she has lost her love.
What’s up?
What’s going on?
What’s happening in your world?
Hey boy, sitting on the lonely curb
With eyes like deep pools of darkness
And a mouth of foul dirt.
His hands are cut and bruised
His clothes are ripped and torn
And he is angry at the world.
What’s up?
What’s going on?
What’s happening in your world?
Hey world, slowly dying
Slowly going into darkness
And destruction.
Your skies are gray
Your waters are polluted
And your people are always at war.
What’s up?
What going on?
Tell me how to change this world…
Firefly, Close Your Eyes - song/poem/musical composition
Firefly, close your eyes
Close your eyes and fly away high.
Firefly, you shine so bright
You shine so all can see you.
Firefly, hold me up high
Guide me with your magnificent light.
Firefly, close your eyes
See the world as it should be.
Firefly, continue to dream
Dream and take me with you.
Firefly, close your eyes
Dream of a better world for me…
~I wrote this song while I was in Disneyland watching the fireworks around 9:00 at night, I was very tired and this song helped to keep me awake, yet not too awake.~
