"All shiplads and ladies report to the Captain's Quarters! All shiplads and ladies will be punished if not present during the Captain's Speech!!!" Ms. Adams hollered at the top of her lungs while ringing the ship meeting bell with all of her strength.
"Come on!" said Jack hurriedly. He did not want to have to do the dishes again for the punishment.
"I'm a comin, I'm a comin," said Joey lazily. He never worried. They jumped off the top sail and slid down the pole to get to the deck. Along with a crew of at least fifty kids, they crammed themselves in the Captain's Quarters. None were missing.
"Today," the Captain said dramatically,"you will receive your quest of piracy. Your duty to the seven seas. You shall complete it, or so help you. You will each have a group of three. Listen carefully. Ms. Adams has the list."
"Ya'll shut up and listen," Ms. Adams said in her usual angry tone,"the groups are this: Johnny, Joey, and Elise, you have the quest of Atlantis. Ella, Ben, and Sarah, you have the quest of the Silver Pearl." It seemed to go on forever because everyone realized they were of age. 13. This would be the last day of lying around and just hanging out. It was depressing. Finally Jack realized he and Joey were split up forever. He looked at Joey and their eyes met and quick turned around. Both had tears. Then Jack heard his name.
"Jack, Annie, and Eddie, you have the Journey of the Red Crystals." Ms Adams said. Everyone went quiet. The Journey of the Red Crystals was a journey that nobody had yet completed without dying in the task. It was a journey started back 3000 years ago....
