Lord, I Love You

Author's Note: I brought my bible to school the other day, not knowing what the people in my class would say as I took it out of my backpack to read. Only one boy, nearest to me, made a comment. He looked at me, then at my Bible, then back up at me and said, "So, you're a Bible Reader?" I looked up at him, calmly, and said, "Yes, I'm a Chrstian and I read the Bible..." Looking back down, I continued to read. He didn't say anything to me after that. It felt goo to be able to read God's word in the classroom, I'm thinking about brining my Bible regularly, no matter what others may say. This poem is one I wrote after I read my Bible for about 30mins...

Lord, I Love You

You are my true Savior
I love you more than anything
You are the one who
Can save me from myself.

I shall read Your word
I shall hear Your voice
I shall feel You
In my heart, soul and mind.

You flood through my body
You speak to my heart
You lead me out of
Satan’s path.

Everyday I praise You
I feel so joyful
No one else could ever
Make me feel this way.

When I read Your word
It becomes my guide
It becomes my shield
And my sword.

I shall defeat temptation
And all other evil
With the light of Your angels
Forever surrounding me.

You were meant to save all
But you gave us the choice
“No one comes to the Father
Except through Him.”

Everyday I learn more
Everyday I want to learn more
I wish to lead others
Into Your marvelous light.

When I cry out to You
You are always there
To cradle me in Your arms
And protect me with Your wings.

Lord, I love You
Lord, I want more of You
Fill me up and let me love
As You want me to love.

Love me when I have no one
And lead me out of darkness.
