I was a beautiful horse with a heart
wild one without any part
I ran like the wind
and held up my chin
I had no dream
but to keep my self clean
from the rest of the human world
but then one day came
when I was clamed
from my wild vast home
I felt all alone
then I was loaded
into a crowded horse transporter
and was bashed a round till I fell
and fell and fell and fell
the next time I woke
I was in a pen
witch felt like a bear den
I was cold and alone
and had not but one friend
but then it happened
I faded away to a bag
and I remembered my last games of tag
in the open range
I new there would never be the next page
of my life
I already missed playing in the sun
with the new born horse son
of my mothers
I had my place
on the face
of the range
and sometimes I wonder
why did I have to die?
I was only a horse
but the just did it with greed of course
they had no right
to change my sight
and to take
me from my lake
on the wide open range
I think of what I will miss while the world shapes
differently from my days of take
and then I think of the thing that makes me mad and yet so sad
oh why oh why did I have to die?
how would you like it if you had to say good by?
so the next time you buy
the big bag of food
for your pet pooch
think of me and my kind
that had to say bye
so try to help me and my kind
before we fade away
to history and and fast
so just remember us
and my last words
oh why oh why did I have to die?

This I a poem dedicated to all the horses who turned in to a bag o food or glue. and I also have to thank my horse babs who gave me this idea of the poem.
