I have brought up this topic due to the fact that according to book 7, Harry's parents died on the 31st of October, 1981.
Harry Potter is probaby the most famous series in the world. In fact HP and the HBP was the top selling fiction book in the US, in 2005.
So, tel all of us, what you love, hate wish for, ANYTHING about the Harry Potter books.
For James and Lily Potter.
*I think the books are brilliant and I guess it's every authors dream to achieve such a high standard. I wish she would write more, and I'm glad that Harry and Ginny got together in the end.

Well, I haven't read the last book yet, nor any other book, but I seem to already know everything that happens (friends + spoilers = spoiled ending...). Btw, what time period does HP take place in? I mean, there are cars and trains, so surely someone would have thought to use a gun against Voldemort...

Harry Potter takes place in modern times, she wrote them in 1990. But I think the reason nobody actually uses a gun is
a) it would kill the magic spirit of the book
b) Voldemort could just shake of the bullets, he's so powerful!!!
Also my comment is - I really feel powerfuly about Lily and Snape as childhood friends. I was heartbroken at the part where Snape died, and I think that where I was glad Lily met James, but I wanted Snape and Lily to remain friends! But I love the books and I think the ending was pretty happy.
