The woman slapped the dogs with a whip. With a bunch of barking and growling, we were speeding down the mountain. The woman made sure to go fast enough to get down there in a hurry, but not too fast so she could keep control of the reins. Suddenly, a loud roaring sound shook the ground. The woman pulled on the reins hard and looked around. Suddenly she gasped and whispered, "Avalanche."

Then, to warn anyone else on the mountain, she yelled, "Avalanche!!" She slapped the whip possibly four times and the dogs were going down the mountain at a speed so fast, some didn't have time to pick up thier paws. They were running so fast because the woman comanded it, because the mountain was so steep, and because they knew what an avalanche was and that there was one.

It was hard, but I managed to turn around enough to see the enormous ocean of snow heading straight for us. I turned back around and amazingly, above the roar of the snow, I heard howling. This time, defintely wolves. I saw something move in the woods and so did the dogs. The leader dog made a strange bark and they headed towards the howling and the movement in the woods. The woman was trying her absolute hardest to redirect them, but it was no use; they had their own plans.

We were dodging trees, swerving this way and that, and the holwing gradually got louder and louder. We came to a large cave and the howling seemed to come from inside. The lead dog breathed deepily and howled bac, somehow urging the dogs to move faster. We were sudenly inside, slipping and sliding because the floor, wall and ceiling were coated in ice. We got to the very back and it was pitch black. Suddenly, a light filled the room. The woman was holding a lantern.

"What in the world got into these dogs?" I sat partly up, "You didn't hear it?" She looked confused, "Hear what?" I shook my head, "Nevermind. Hey, where's Tala? Wasn't she just on the back of the sled?" The woman looked around, "Oh my, God. She must have fallen off!" The woman dropped the lantern and craddled herself in her tears.
I was just barely able to stand and walked over and did my best to comfort her. The light was gone, but there was a bit of blueish-whitish light coming from the entrance.

I saw that snow was covering the entrance and the sun was seeping through. I then heard something like moaning. I walked limply, to the entrance and saw to the left, some large object. My eyes adjusted to the light and I gasped. Blood was everywhere around the object. The object was Tala.
