I read this book once simply because one of my friends insisted I must, and I hated it and thought it was the borring-est book I'd ever read. Recently, though, I was forced to read it again for a school assignment and enjoyed it much better. I think it was because I was to young to understand the point, but now I get it. To put it bluntly, it's about a young girl named Winnie who is tired of being fussed over so she runs away to Treegap Wood, and meets a strange family called the Tucks, who kidnap her for a good purpose. Winnie had discovered this magic spring, and they had to tell her that it was a magic spring that made you immortal. They had dranken it once, but try to make Winnie believe that living forever isn't a blessing-or a curse. But once you make that choice, that's it forever.
Meanwhile there is a suspicious man in a yellow suit (that's literally what the author calls him-never gives him a name) who is after the spring and the Tucks. A sudden twist in the plot (which I will not mention to those who haven't read it) and Mae Tuck is sentenced to hanging...but Mae can't be hung...or everyone will know she's immortal! So, if your interested, read the book and find out! (or cheat and watch the movie) And as for Winnie? I won't tell you if she decides to drink from the spring or not.

I would encourage people NOT

I would encourage people NOT to cheat and watch the movie, because it's quite different from the book and not as good...This is a good review.
