Chapter 17
At around 9:30 I crawled under my teal bed sheets and slowly closed my eyes. I was then visited by the strong voice again. This time it was the strong voice. ‘Hello,’ it said. ‘Go away!’ I yelled in my head. Then, I saw the face of a man who looked young but old. He had scars on his face and wrinkles under his eyes. His hair was messy and dark brown. He had tan, wrinkly skin and green eyes that looked like he had red eye. He seemed familiar, very familiar.“Hello Misty,” the man said (he sounded like the strong voice). “I am your worst nightmare, I am the villains of all villains, I AM…um, well, I can’t tell you right now.”
“You’re trying to threaten me and you can’t even tell me who you are?” I asked. “Err, yeah…” the man said. “Sworn to secrecy?”
“Pretty much,” he replied. He cleared his throat and got back to being serious. “Ok, so anyway...have a nice trip! See you next fall! Good bye!” And with that, his face disappeared and I was falling out of the sky screaming. “AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!” I screeched. I tried to clam myself down. “Just a dream, just a dream,” I repeated. “I wish I had wings!” Then, a broom came zooming out of nowhere and came to my rescue. Faster then I could say, “OMG!” the broom picked me up and I was sitting on it. I looked down. I was just a few feet above an ocean. “Wonder why I’m here…” I said. I tugged at the broom stick. “How do you work this thing?”
“By magic of course!” someone said. “Oh thanks so much!” I said. Then it hit me. “Who said that?!” I looked around. “I hope no one is spying on me!”
“Nope, I said that!” the same person said again. “Who?” I asked. “Down here!” the person grunted. I looked down. “The broomstick? Brooms can’t talk!” I exclaimed. “I can. So, where do ‘ya want to go?”
“Closer to the ocean,” I said. “Sure thing!” the broom replied. “Wait! Before I go closer, I want to see what I’m getting closer to,” I said. I waved my hand over the water and an image appeared. It looked like some jail. I saw some arms sticking out from the cells, and merpolice with silver tails and shiny uniforms patrolling the area. The image faded away. “Okay, go broom,” I commanded. The broom shot down and plunged me into the ocean. “AAAAAH!” I screamed. I shot down so fast that I went to the bottom of the ocean, and my pajama shirt got stuck under a huge rock! ‘This is so the end of Misty Margret Monroe!’ I thought negatively. I tried to get myself out with every method I could think of, but the place was under some type of spell. I tried everything that I learned in swimming lessons to get me out of this mess, but nothing would work! And to top all my dismay off my legs were getting itchy and gooey. Weirdest feeling I ever felt in my life. I touched my right leg to itch it, but it didn’t feel like a leg anymore. I didn’t want to look, but I did. “AAAAAAAAAAAH!” I screamed. Bubbles escaped from my mouth. I was breathing. “It’s not the end of me! I’m a mermaid! And my clothes changed! I’m not stuck anymore!” I changed into a bikini top that was really cute. It was light blue and had rhinestones on it. “I don’t remember buying this,” I said. “This HAS to be a dream!” I pinched myself. “OW!” I screamed. “You there!” said a man. “Who’s there?” I asked. “I did,” said the man again. A merpolice swam up to me. “Put your hands up…um, your name?” I lifted my hands. “My name is Misty Monroe! I have no idea how I got here! I want to go home!” I cried. “You’re not going anywhere. I know just where to put you.”
