Chapter 18
I sat in my room in a total shock. I had nothing. I couldn't think. You know how people always say what their first instinct to do was? I didn't have that. There was nothing. My mind was empty.
I looked at the time. Only 7:30, and yet I felt seriously drained. The night's events were hitting me. This was probably because I hadn't stopped to process them while they happened. And now I was paying for it. I slowly slid under my covers and fell into a blissful sleep.

"Lisaaaaaaaaaa! Wakeeeeeeeeee uppppppppppp!"
"Huh?! Wha?"
My head shot up from my pillow. Dancing around my room were Jimmy and Jake. What were they doing up? They were never up this early. Unless I was up late, which was a totally inconceivable thought, because I was a serious early bird. The last time I woke up past eight was...well, never.
I rubbed some sleep out of my eyes and grabbed my phone. My eyes widened in shock as I looked at the time. 9:30?!! 9:30!!! But it was what Jake told me that made my ear-shattering scream emerge.
"You gotta wake up, Lisi. Mike's here and he said he'll take us to the park if you come!"
Then Jimmy added, "Yeah and we're going to play basketball!"
Mike was here? Here? My eyes widened again. With my PARENTS?
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Jimmy and Jake's eyes widened in horror and shock. They darted out of my room faster then a lizard after a meal.
I needed a shower! My clothes! I'd take the shower and get dressed in there! I gathered my clothes and ran into the hall.
And bumped straight into Mike.
He blinked a bit rapidly as he took in my disheveled hair, my rumpled clothes and I looked down to realize that my underwear was right on top of my little clothes pile!
He grinned.
"You didn't want to see me so much that as soon as you heard my name, you screamed with terror, then grabbed clothes so you could change and then escape out the window? Am I that bad a kisser?" he asked, his eyes looking forlorn, giving me look of pure...sadness. I wanted that smile back.
"No! No! It's just that I'm not dressed, and I never sleep this late and I need a shower, I'm a total mess an-"
Lips on mine, really quick.
He pulled back after about two heartbeats.
"Better?" he flashed me that dimpled smile.
I grinned back. "Much. But if I don't change soon, your going to hear that little speech all over again."
He laughed.
I darted to the safety of my bathroom.
Probably about the shortest time a girl has taken to get dressed, 15 minutes later
I popped into the living room, to see Jimmy and Jake jumping on the couch and on Mike.
"Whoa! what's going on here?" I yelled above the noise.
Jimmy and Jake immediately stopped and stood at attention.
"We were playing Attack the Monster and he was the monster."
I smiled as Mike grinned at me weakly from his position on the couch.
"Oh, well if he's the monster...."
"Touchdown!"
Somehow, our game of basketball had turned into a warped version of football. As in, Mike was the monster who had the ball, if you got the ball, you had to take it to your goal, which was wherever someone on your team was, at least 20 feet away. Jimmy and Jake were the ones who tackled Mike constantly so I could get the ball. We were winning.
"Alright, let's take a break guys!" I yelled.
Since I'd had the brains to bring snacks and such, Jimmy and Jake willingly scrambled off the field. I walked over to Mike and stretched out a hand to him.
"Need some help?" I asked with a grin.
He gratefully took my hand and I helped pull him up.
"Geez, how do you put up with them 24/7? I mean, they're great and all, but all that energy..."
I smiled again. "How do you think I managed to keep up with you guys in elementary? Chasing those two around the house was training enough."
We were walking slowly, so it seemed that we were still 15 feet away. Our hands were slowly swaying next to us, beating in time to our steps....
So he took my hand.
So he stopped me.
So he looked around, to make sure Jimmy and Jake weren't looking.
So he looked at me with those blue eyes.
So he gave me a heart-stopping grin.
So he kissed me for a really long time....
So that's good.
So he's fantastic.

1:30 pm, My house
"Bye Mike." I whispered.
"Bye." he whispered back.
One light kiss.
I went up to my room, started to reach for the room, then stopped. I wasn't going to think about the fact I was...whatever. I wasn't going to think about Mel squealing about my rise, or listen to Jamie tell me how I needed to do certain stuff. Instead I was going to simply relish the fact that my boyfriend had kissed me. And was absolutely perfect....
"LISA!"
'Cause who knew when my crazy family was going to interfere again.
"Brinng!"
Make that my life.
