The Party - Prologue

in your dreams

I flipped my hair over my shoulder and slinked across the beach in my new flip flops. My eyes glittered, and I flung the beach towel I was holding around my neck. Jordin was already there, with most of my other friends - great luck. I was way late.

Jordin turned her head and smiled at me, while I kept my gaze firm and waved. She turned back, taking a sip of her lemonade. CJ was next to her, so I plopped myself casually down on the stool next to him. He bopped his head back and forth, lip syncing to his i-Pod.

Hit me with your best shot..oh why don't you hit me with your best shot? he mouthed.

No one bothered to ask why he would listen to such 'pop', because knowing CJ, it wouldn't end up good. I mean, seriously - CJ was NOT the guy to go asking about music. Usually, the conversation goes something along the lines of, "Soo CJ whats your favourite type of music?"

"OOOOHHH, I like rock, pop, you know...and all those other things, so.."

Turns out I was the one to ask that, and after he said that, I sort of zoned out.

Speaking of CJ...

"Dudes, it's a fire!"

I didn't believe him at first, though, and ignored it. But gradually, people started to yell and clear the area, and I ran out of the shack, my towel swinging across my neck.

And then I realized...Jordin was still in there- there, up in the flames. She hadn't noticed...and now...who knows what happened to her?
