Come Back, Dimpoo
by Susmi R.
A/N: Um, I wrote this for a very special dog in my heart who has passed away three years back. She's always in my memory - and she'll always stay there.
And once again, I dedicate this to her.
Oh-by the way? Laugh at the name.
I know it's funny. :)
But still; there's something behind the name.
:)

If there was something you could do to change the past,
Would it have mattered if it was big or small?
If there was someone you would want to bring back from the past,
Would it hurt to know you would choose a dog?
She was there whenever I remembered; she was there in all the memories,
She was someone – no, not something – who used to be around when I was small,
Whenever I came to my grandparent’s– she’d come bounding over to me,
And lick me all over or grind me to the floor.
She used to be huge then, considering how small I was, it was no surprise,
She was there in all the visits to my grandparent’s; a white, fuzzy Pomeranian as always,
I remember now – when she came sniffing me all about when I first arrived,
And when she tickled my feet with her tongue for scraps at the dinner table.
I never realized how much Dimpoo (forgive the silly nickname) meant to me,
Until that fateful day when I was ten, my granddad called to say,
She had passed on to the Doggy-Heaven land,
And even then I didn’t really understand.
Dimple or Dimpoo, either way, was a special person in our lives,
She didn’t only take love, she gave it too,
Now, I wish that I had known her better,
Now, every time I visit my grandparents, I visit her tiny grave.
Her eyes, the colour of the vast ocean,
Her smile, the length of the Mississippi River,
Her fur, the tinge of a pure, pale, ferret
Her barks, showing mounds of laughter.
Perhaps, in the future, if they made a time-machine,
And when I would be a old, little, granny weakling,
I would hopefully get one last chance to see the dog,
That my mum and her parents and me always remembered in our forgetting hearts.
I wish she would come back to us,
Shower us with her ever lasting love, hope and loyalty again,
She had this sort of power which helped us move on,
And even in her death, we are still moving on.
So, if there was something you could do to change the past,
Would it have mattered if it was big or small?
And, if there was someone you would want to bring back from the past,
Would it hurt to know you would choose a dog?

aww -sniff- im sorry
if my dog died, id probably die of sadness. we're extremely close...i'm attached to her. when i use the computer she hops up on the seat next to me. when i watch TV she curls up next to me. when i play soccer, volleyball or whatever in my backyard she comes out with me and i take her for a run. when i sleep, she's right there at the end of the bed snoring that cute doggy snore. when i go to the bathroom...its gross but she manages to open the door and sniff my knees and run away (ick!). when i come home from school she jumps on me and whines if she can't pay attention to me. when i'm sad i go to her. when i'm sick she's next to me. when i'm scared she's like..guarding me. i use her flank as a pillow sometimes....jeez, she's the sweetest thing ever...she really like..understands what i say. same thing with my other dog, too!

Aww- that's really sweet of your dog, to always be there for you.
He must be a wonderful dog to you- just like Dimpoo was to me.
Oh- and about the nickname?
Well- it's actually Dimples - but we started calling him Dimpoo (yes, I KNOW what it sounds like - LOL-) and the nickname stuck.
:( - I'm sorry too that she passed away.
And thanks for commenting Kat and Nickie (Aww- Nickie; you're lucky to have a puppy! They're so cute! - but they grow fast though).
Kat, you're SO lucky you have a dog like that.
How many dogs do you have anyways?
-And that's so sweet that she wants your attention.
You must love him loads. And he must love you back too.
Just like me and Dimpoo.
