I loved Heros Don't Run!!! It is about Iwo Jima, Japan from World War 2. A 17 year old boy boy wanted to join the war but knew it would be over soon, and he couldn't join because you needed to be 18 to join. So he secretly joined without his mom knowing, and lied about his age ( which was possible - and illegal - to do back then ). And then ended up in the battle of Iwo Jima. I would perfer to read all his books - A Boy At War, A Boy No More, and Heros Don't Run - if you are as much interested in WW2 as I am.
