Arana Valle Orphanage is the name of a camp for orphans in a strange land called Telarana Valle (Spanish for Spider Web Valley). Every 5th night after the first full moon comes out, the orphans sit around the campfire telling legends and stories of the Valley's mysterious ways. Stories of spiders that dangle from trees only at the minute of exact midnight, waiting for humans, when they'll then drop from the trees and onto the human's shoulder and bite them. The bite is undectectable, until you start seeing hallucinations. Soon afterwards, you die. Some say if you make it out of the valley before the next sunrise, you'll survive. But the valley is a twisted and evil place that seems to make you think you're walking in a straight line, when really, you're walking in circles.

Legends are told of only one man making it out of the valley one night, and never finding his way back, though he had wanted to lead his friends out too. A famous legend is that of the Descendant Salvador that is the great-great-great grandchild of the man who escaped, lives in the camp. The children and authorities at the camp say the grandchild will have the power to escape the valley, also, but no one knows who is the Descendant Salvador. Then one night, one of the authorities leaves and does not show up again for many nights. He returns, blistered and bruised, bleeding and close to death. After a few days, he is healed, but remembers only one thing from his journey. His words are these, "I don't remember anything...nothing at all." His voice trailed off as his eyes hinted his mind searching for something. "Except...except how to...find the real Descendant Salvador."
