Big Girls Don't Cry Chapter 14

We kept pedling hard, trying not to bump into any cars on the way. Then, we had to slow down and stop a few times because of traffic.
After a few times stopping, we saw a limo. The window slowly rolled down, and Claire's face appeared. She stuck her hand out, which, by the way, was holding a cigarette that had some smoke coming out the end.
Claire stared at the two of us, Tasha and I, together. Her jaw dropped. With all that shock, she dropped her cigarette too.
"Sophie?! What are you doing with-with...with that freak?" Claire asked, surprised.
I looked at Tasha then Claire, my bangs blowing into my face. "Well, erm..." I stammered.
Then I heard Tasha sigh heavily. I took a quick look at her and saw her looking down at her bike's wheels, disappointed.
I looked back at Claire. "I'm hanging out with a friend;that's what I'm doing. I'm hanging out with a true friend who listens and praises me. A friend who doesn't smoke," I replied.
Claire's jaw dropped again. She looked like she was just smacked across the face. She turned her head and started at screaming at the chaufer. "Come on you idiot!!! Let's go!!!!" she screamed.
I looked back at Tasha who seemed delighted. I nodded at her and we kept pedaling to Shooting Star Lake, weaving through the cars. We laughed together as we passed Claire's limo again, with Claire screaming more than before shooting out the most disgusting words.
"Come on you re****!!!! What is up with all this sh**?!" she screamed.
We laughed and talked all the way to Shooting Star Lake. Mostly about Tasha's life that day, and my life the day before. Tasha was actually a bit of a poor girl who was teased alot because she was smart and she didn't have "designer lables".
"Well, I really don't care about 'designer lables'," I had said. "I mean, look at me! I'm wearing a plain green tee from Holister, a grey sweater from Areo, American Eagle flip-flops, and a denim mini skirt from I-don't-know-where!"

When we finally got at Shooting Star Lake, we locked our bikes and rented a nice, small row boat. What? I only had 5 bucks!
So anyway, we rowed out to the middle of the lake with some other people. Mostly there was a boy and a girl in the boat, with the boy rowing and the girl holding onto him, looking at herself in the lake, or just holding a paddle. Tasha and I sighed and shook our heads.
Finally, the shooting stars started flying by. I looked at the sky with pleasure and closed my eyes tightly.
I wish I had my old life back. The life of a cry baby! I want Bob back! I want the broken shell necklace back! I want it all back!!!

Honestly, this is one of my favorite chapter books. I love the idea, but you could elaborate more by describing things more vividly. For example, when Claire's screaming her head off at the two, you could say:
Her face flashed a deep scarlet, as her eyes bulged out of her contorted face. Words sputtered out of her shrieking mouth.
Great job!

Thanks for the advice! I'll use something like that in my next chappie.
