Answered Prayer: chapter 1

Surely you don't memorize something just because you have to. Most likely it's signifigant--unforgettable. And whatever it was you carry the memory with you to the grave. Haunting you forever. Unless if you love the memory....then the lovliness of it haunts you.

in fact.......i still remember that day.....

I sat on a short boulder, gazing into the mists. The boulder I sat on turned out to be Puxetawny Plaza but that's another story.

Nobody was near me; i was clearly alone. Trees wove their way past me. Mist and fog entangled in the trees. Breezes were slipping through each corner, shaking the earth. This gave the slight appearance of an earthquake. That, of course, was impossible at the time.

Water spit at me from the creek behind. Drops of water turned to splashing water, and eventually, I had to stand up. and wipe the spraying water off my blond hair. As I stood up to leave, a shadow cast across the street in front of me. The shadow was---running towards me.

Out from the fog came a bespectacled man wearing a top hat and a business suit. He stared at me a while and then reached into his pocket, and took out a hand gun.

"I JUST CAN'T DO IT!" He shrieked, holding the gun out to me. I trembled at the thought that he'd shoot me. I was quite young then and wanted to live a full life. Instead he just dropped the gun in my hand and ran off.

I have kept that gun to this day, trying to figure out what the man wouldn't do with it. Shoot somebody? I guess, but I still need background information.
