A Phone Call to No where chapter 1

Jay, stuffing her face with popcorn, called to Beth, "Can you get me the remote, there's "breaking news." And I can tell it's gonna be long."
"What?!" Beth screamed, her head in the refridgerator.
"I got it." Rose sat up. "You lazy pigs." She mumbled. Rose put down her cell phone, pink embroided with silver matalics around the front and down the sides. She was in "mid" text. "What do you want, there is Zoey 101, Drake and Josh, Kid's Choice Awards-"
"Kid's Choice Awards!" Jay yelled. Popcorn flying out of her mouth as she chewed and melted butter, streaming down her chin onto the mint green carpeted floor.
"You Nuben's don't got anything to eat!" Beth plopped herself down on the couch. "Yogurt smothered in sugar, sugar, and more sugar! C'mon, Jay. Doesn't your mom buy some healthier things. Yogurts is one of my favorites but who dumped all that sugar on it?"
"Me." Jay replied still chomping on popcorn.
Beth, the "good" one, the healthy one, the athletic one, and the smart one. She though sometimes could be "dumb."
Rose, the bigger one as in taller, the kind of thinner one, the B average student, and the karate one. She had other friends. Jay and Beth were kind of a moderate friend.
Jay, the odd one, the annoying one, the so called dumb one, and the weird one. She is known as the trouble maker.

There was a sudden flicker of darkness. Beth rose.
"It must of been like a cloud or somethin'. It definetely came from outside."
The moonlight thickened again and then splashed away.
"That's odd. You can't just turn on and off the moon. Unless you are somehow controling it."
