Knowing that the gift will never be given
Knowing that one who seems to have everything gets that too
Knowing she'll waste it, if it was yours you would cherish it
Knowing "friends" is all you'll ever be,
Opening your heart to the hurt
Opening your eyes to the truth
Opening the note that says he doesn't like you
Seeing the words
Seeing his smile
Breaking your heart, not knowing all the while
Watching him watching her
Tasting your tears as they roll down your face
Wishing you'd be in his sweet embrace
Trying to explain it,
Trying to live,
Not sure what to do with the love you have to give
Cuz theres no place to put,
It'd only spill out
