Piper and Aidan waved goodbye to Anne as they left the shop.
“Did you hear about the killing?” asked Piper.
“Yeah, I have to the poor guys funeral after this!” answered Aidan.
“Same here,” groaned Piper, “why do I have to waste my time on some dead guy?”
Aidan choked on air, he couldn’t believe what he was hearing. “That Pips, is so not cool,” snapped Aidan angrily, “how can you say that?!”
“Yeah your right,” sighed Piper casting his eyes to the floor.

They walked passed the restaurant, McGilly Grill and realised they were at the entry gates of Lynn Elms. Hannah St. Ives was there leaning against the wall sucking on sugary honeysuckle, Aidan forced away the urge to run up to her. He casually walked over to her, she was staring blankly into space and didn’t notice him.
“Hello?” said Piper sarcastically, “anyone home?”
“Oh, sorry,” blurted Hannah blinking abruptly, “hi Aidan!”
“What about me,” scoffed Piper.
“Oh yeah, hi Piper!”
“You guys better not get all ‘hugs and kisses’ on the playing field or I’ll rip ye a new one!” laughed Piper.
“Shut up Pips,” retorted Hannah coolly.

They decided to jog to Field6 instead of walk, for cardiovascular exercise.
“What’s cardiovascular anyway?” panted Piper.
“Well I don’t know but it’s good for ya…. And it involves a lot of running,” spluttered Aidan.
They got to the field just as the competition was being declared open. The headmistress Joanne Ryan was standing on the platform, smartly dressed with a microphone in her left hand.
“I hereby declare The First School; Unisex Rugby Tournament, open!” she bellowed over the white noise chatting children.
“Okay,” said Aidan to his house team, “which house are we playing first?”
“It’s on the sheet, idiot!” snapped Lacy.
“Why are you even hear Lace Face, you can’t even play!” scorned Piper, and winked at Aidan. Aidan smiled back, Piper was always looking out for him.
“Anyway, are first match is against Francesca House,” stated Aidan confidently, “we can beat them, come on Sydney House!!!”

Good!
Something important should happen, though, in the match - to move the plot along, hm?
