Chapter 6
4-11-08 3:30pm Drama Club
We’re waiting for the eight graders to come to the auditorium after their safety duty. Jake is totally looking at me.
(Quick Peek)
YES! He is looking at me! Point 1 for Wright!
Okay, in the back of my journal, I’m going to write down some of my favorite spells.
Natalie Wright

I closed my book and flipped to the back page and began to write.
Mouchia- To make a person or object fly
Bestia- To turn into an animal; just think of the animal you’re changing into and say “Bestia”
Bobosa- To make one stupid (Nick won’t be needing this one)
Fryaious- To freeze
Amplusis- To make something or someone grow larger
Brevisious- To make something or someone smaller (counter-curse to Amplusis)

Then, the eighth graders pushed the doors of the auditorium open and strode in.
I quickly snapped my book shut and stowed it in my bag.
“Okay everyone!” Ms. Bailey called. “Today all of you will be showing off the skits you created for homework. Who’s first?”
“Should we go first?” I asked Emily.
“Nah, let’s go after group number two,” she replied.
“Okay. Where’s the script?” I said.
“Right here,” she said, patting her bag. She unzipped it and pulled out to white sheets of paper. She handed one of them to me.
I skimmed through it, remembering what I had to do.
“Hey, what’s with the changes?” I asked.
“Oh, I, uh, wanted to make it seem cooler. I added a few things here and there…”
“You changed everything!” I said.
“Just follow my lead. Everything’s going to be totally cool,” she said.
“Before, the skit was about two friends having an argument about one friend cheating off the other. Now they’re arguing over a boy? This sounds ridiculous!”
“No, it sounds better than our first skit. Take it or leave it,” she said.
I took a deep breath the way Ms. Bailey taught us.
“I’ll take it. It does sound a bit cooler,” I said easily.
“Alright! We’ll be up next,” Emily said. She waved a hand in the air. “Ms. Bailey, we’re ready!”
“Okay, Emily and Natalie; show us what you’ve prepared,” Ms. Bailey replied sweetly. Her red, circle earrings shook as she spoke.
Emily and I climbed up the stage.
“You ready?” she asked.
“Yeah, sure,” I said, the spotlight making me sweaty.
It turned out really good, except for the ending…
“Look, Emily, we shouldn’t be fighting like this!” I exclaimed.
I looked out into the audience. Jake was staring directly at me. I gave out a light squeak.
“Well, Natalie, you are right,” Emily said, a hand on her hip.
I looked out into the audience again and Jake was beaming at me. My palms began to sweat and I started to feel a bit of stage fright.
What happens if I mess up? Will he still like me as a friend? Oh my God!
Then, I collapsed to the ground. This, BTW, means I fainted and my mom had to be called up and she called me some embarrassing names in front of Jake and other kids in the drama club.

What does btw mean? Sorry,

What does btw mean? Sorry, I'm bad at this!
I don't think you intend it to be this way but I like Emily as a charectar-she's very evil!
Is Emily the cool girl? She seems to be.
Sorry-but the ending just doesn't seem very-sorry to say-okay. I think you should end with questions because these ends have not been very good, I'm sorry. I think you are an amazing writer and this would make your writing a little better because this is sooo good and I think some people may be turned away by the endings.
I hope this doesn't hurt your feelings. If it does-feel free to be as picky as you want on evrything I write!
Definatly continue!
