(Indiana's POV)
Oooh. Auuuughhhh. DARNNNNNNN.
Oh, JEEZ, my head hurts. Augh, augh, augh, ARRGH!
Oh, gosh, I just about banged it into a locker, and a sea of sea-green is swimming in front of my eyes, oh, DARN it, it HURTS....
Ow, ow, ow...
I raise my hand groggily to the side of my head, breathing out slowly. All right, take everything slowly, slowly...
Around me, there is an annoying sort of buzz, buzz, buzz - I can pick out a few indignant voices here and there.
Slowly, again, I open my eyes; the first thing they meet is utter pandemonium.
An curly-haired guy is gesturing furiously at me (OK, this is probably the one I bumped into) to a girl with cropped brown hair who's standing, hand on her jutted-out hip (ohhh, don't tell me. Girlfriend) to another one, who's standing off to one side, leaning against the lockers, looking at the other people with a slightly bored look on his face.
Hmm.
But this is abruptly broken off as a voice sounds from above me.
'Are you all right?' the voice says, and I turn my head weakly towards whoever said it.
Oh. It's another boy, a black one, who has very nice-looking amber-colored eyes that are looking into mine with concern. I nod my head, just as weakly, and the next second, the person has extended a hand. I take it gratefully, smiling at him, and use to pull myself up. He nods reassuringly. I nod back, and then I look away, as the voice gets louder.
'She bumped into me! I promise! She just came like boom out of that door and knocked me over!'
The curly-haired looks toward me angrily. My eyes narrow, and my head slowly clears as I have something to FOCUS on.
Uh-huh. Yeah. Sure. This guy wants an argument, he'll get one. But not before I'm absolutely sure he does.
I cross my arms. He looks towards me and sneers.
'Why don't you look where you're going,' - haha, he must be practicing his sneering technique- 'new girl?'
Ooo. Ouch. That hurt. Not.
But I think it should, as people everywhere are looking quite scandalized. I sigh, roll my eyes, and reply before he has another chance to say another idiotic thing.
'Look,' I emphasize this, 'I was going out of the principal's office. I was simply going out. Just - going - out. Normally. If you insist on making this a blame game, why not just put it on yourself? After all,' at my previous statement, there was again the surprised look. Hmm, I think I'm beginning to know why, 'you were the one who were walking straight and knew where you were going' -
'Now, just hold on a second.'
Well, this is a different voice. Utterly composed and sure of itself. A different reception, too - instead of shocked whispers, it was more like sighs. I can see why when I turn to the speaker.
The person I've seen earlier. The looking-bored one. I think I saw him on the bus, too, though of course I can't be sure. In any case, he's pretty good-looking, from the part of my mind that is yet unoccupied with finding a short reply.
'Yes?'
Yep. That's it. Yes. Always hurls them back a bit, though this guy merely smiles.
'To let you know the facts, that's just not done.'
Another batch of sighs - but why is this guy sounding so sure of himself?
'I mean, accusing a member of the LR group - well, that's just...' he shakes his head slightly, with a pitying look on his face; twitters sound from all around, 'not done.'
He finishes, and is now contemplating me. Pityingly.
I hate being looked at pityingly.
'Really?' I counter, 'What might this special group, whose members are excused from recieving justice and are capable of accusing innocents of wrongs, be?'
The boy looks around, still looking amused. He looks back at me, the twitters still going on. I glance at my watch.
'The Liam Rheston group, of course. Or mine. Liam Rheston, at your service,' he takes a bow, gallantly, and it's only then that I notice he's dressed impeccably, in an outfit that complements the bow perfectly.
I raise an eyebrow, taking care to look as elegant as possible. When I speak, my voice is somewhat elevated.
'Oh? Well, then, Rheston,' I emphasize the last name, and it's only now that he looks slightly surprised.
I stop as the bell rings. I smile evilly at their surprised looks, just before they start walking off. The spectacle of myself making a spectacle of myself isn't enough bait to keep them from their classes, and very soon, it's just me, Rheston, and about six or seven others standing, in the middle of that hallway, left in the middle of the group.
'I'm afraid you'll find that policy somewhat unexcused from this time onward, Mr. Rheston,' I incline my head, in the mere shadow of a respectful gesture. Abruptly, though still gracefully, I turn.
My beautiful beige coat glides behind me, and I turn the corner smiling to myself.
