Indiana, Invincible; Chapter 5, Part 3

by Maryam
in A Land Of Desert And Sun

I underline these words twice, then, remembering what my mom always does to write a mystery, I begin:
LIAM RHESTON - LOOKING @ BOOK IN LIBRARY - ARTISTIC ROBBERIES 21ST CENTURY - LOOKS SUSPICIOUSLY SKITTISH (I add to myself in my mind, smiling a bit, a bit TOO skittish); actually, acting like a total -

All right, all right, fine. Just in case there's anyone else reading this, I'm not going to continue. I'm just going to add to everyone that what was supposed to be there is a not-very-flattering adjective.
I grin and continue.

Hmmm.... What could there be in that particular book that Rheston would not want me to see? I begin doodling on the page, frowning to myself.
But Rheston hasn't got any interest in art... Or has he? Certainly, he has to potential, but whether he has or not, I simply cannot tell... I don't know a lot about Rheston, really. What I do know could fit on the palm of one hand.
Very well, then. I certainly can't puzzle over this for the rest of my schooldays. It'll probably be something totally stupid anyway, like he had a perfume-scented note from one of his hordes of admirers that he'd forgotten in it and, naturally, didn't want me to see it...
Or maybe it's a secret plea of some kind from one of the more nerdy girls of the school.
Or - no - it's a LOVE letter from a nerdy girl he knows, and possibly loves (I shudder at the thought - Rheston, loving anybody? Bleaugh. I pity the nerd), BUT HE DOESN'T WANT ANYONE ELSE TO FIND OUT.
Yes, that's it! Yep, I got it!!!
I smile to myself, but it quickly fades away when I come to terms with the utter futility and stupidity my completely useless hypotheses really are.
I frown and tap the pad with one hand.
Though my mom is the real mystery person, it's my dad who really knows about those things - human relationships and such, if it turns out to be that way (bleaugh). Besides, Mom is probably a bit busier at the moment....
I nod to myself, settling it, and swing my legs over the bed.
Right.
Off I go to Dad.

"not-very-flattering adjective"- LOL, that made me laugh.
This chapter is splendiferous, as usual, and Indie is SO lucky to have both parents as writers! Grr- I'm jealous. Ha, ha, and also, I can't wait to hear what her Dad says about this. So, hurry up and write the next chappie!

"It's getting really hard, Maryam"?
I didn't know you and Rien were co-working on this story!
That is SO cool!
I could never cooperate with another author on one story - at least, I think so.
I've never tried it...
Oh, and I've only known Caroline and Liv to create a story together-
and now you guys are doing it too!!!!!

COOLIO!!!

LOL, anyways, great job, you guys! Btw: The 2nd comment was when I didn't read the previous comments, so, yeah - sorry, Rien, didn't mean to leave you out like that! LOL- great story guys, and continue!

Thanks, everyone, again!! I was so happy when I saw that there were FOUR NEW COMMENTS!!!! AND I DIDN'T EVEN WRITE ANOTHER CHAPTER!!! (btw, the reason for that is because I had a really hard poetry test yesterday, but I GOT EVERYTHING RIGHT!!! YAY!! Hopefully, the teacher won't find any reason to lessen my grade by a point or so, SHE'S weird like that...)
Rien: Really? My name is unique and pretty? You made me smile!! It's a pretty common name (the mother of the prophet Jesus, Mary, becomes Maryam in Arabic) here, but I'm glad to know someone likes it!!
Susmi: Our most dear blundering blunderer, bumbling bumbler. (Calla, can we think of anything to do with Chad Michael Murray as a name for our dear S? Don;t ask ;)
