"I never thought you could do it," Dad said proudly.
"Yeah..............." Alessa mumbled.
"We never thought we could either," I replied.
"Uh-huh," Mom groaned.
"Well, we have to get medical records for both of you, and we have to get Alessa's test scores," Dad told us.
While Dad made a phone to the doctor's, I felt a tiny little thing itching and scratching at me. What was that called again? Oh yes, guilt. I felt guilt, and I'm sure Mom and Alessa felt it too.
"We're going to the doctor's tomorrow," Dad informed us. "At three o' clock."
"So I get to miss school?" Alessa smiled, face lighting up.
"Yes, you do. And you'll help your mom teach Jaimy too,"
Alessa and I grumbled. She was a bad teacher, and I was a bad student. "Can't I take care of Caleb instead?" Alessa pleaded.
"No," Dad said firmly.
"Fine," my sister muttered. She also whispered a string of swear words.
The next day, a bright and sunny Monday, we went to the doctor's office. Our doctor, Mr. Myser, told me to go first.
"OK, doc," I shrugged, climbing to my feet.
He told me to cover one eye and name the letters he told me to. Was that called a vision test? I forget. Then he weighed and measured me. I was four feet three inches and seventy-two pounds. Then he tested my heart and my pulse and my flexibility and stuff like that.
When it was Alessa's turn, I sat next to Dad. The guilt was eating away at me, especially since he was congratulating me on finding Spring Meadows Elementary. I couldn't stand it. "All right!" I yelled. "Mom found the school, not me! I didn't find it! Jeez!"
And the weight was lifted off my shoulders.

Nice twist at the end! At first I was confused but I liked how you cleared the chapter up at the bottom! It's a bit weird to read "Jamie" as "Jaimy". I'm kinda obsessed with all variations of James.
