Love Through A Mirror

by Kavalnain
in New York

It's as if I'm in love
With someone who doesn't exist
Because I can't see his face
Or feel his lips

Yet he's there
And I'm here
Staring into a two way mirror
Searching for the other's face

I wish I could lean my cheek
Against his chest
And hear how his
Heart beats

It's hard to know
From so far away
If he truly does
Love me

When I'm lonely or heartbroken
I stare into the mirror
And if he's there
My heart soars as I feel his presence

But even in the mirror
I can only see a faded image
Though I try to see more
I only hear the echo of his sweet voice

His silhouetted form
Is always by my side
Yet when I lean on him
I fall

Through the air
On to the ground
My ears listening for the sound
Of smashed glass

No it still stands
The mirror where I can see
The face that I love
And the man who loves me
