Re: Surrender Your Throne
If you are wondering, "Surrender your Throne" is a song I wrote, posted on here and now feel diffrently about. I have obviously offended some people, (Please don't take offence to THIS) and also embarassed myself. I am going to ask Perry to delete it, for the benifit of all of us.
I want you to know that I did not purposly offend anyone, and if I did, i'm sorry.
Obi: I meant monarchy that ruled the country. You have a goverment, and that's fine. =) So no offence and none taken.
Anyways, thats all people!!

No don't delete it, I was just saying something not taking offence!

To tell the truth, it's a
To tell the truth, it's a monarchy here, as in absolute monarchy. The king is great, so I guess we're lucky here in Saudi Arabia, no one's getting hanged, or the like...
But really, the idea of democracy is (no offense, anyone!) sort of overrated. Look at the US (as in: LOOK AT BUSH). Look at Israel. Look at Egypt (the same 'president' for like 20 years). You can be a democracy and still not be truly... Y'know. A democracy.
A true and brilliant point,
A true and brilliant point, however, a monarchy leaves room for imperfection while only the best can become president. Also, you may or may not know this but. The queen has no power whatsoever really, and the little she does have the goverment prompts her not to use it. If she tries to overulae or differ to the palns of the goverment, they'll probably strip her of all her efective powers or if it comes to the worst there would be a revolution.

Yeah, I've heard that. But,
Yeah, I've heard that. But, England has a "democratic monarchy," right? Is that right? Like, the queen isn't really political, and other people make desisions democratically?
PLEASE don't get offended or anything if that was wrong. Soc. Stud. has never been my strong suit.
And, while the president of the US is usually good, that doesn't nessesaraly mean he's (or she's) the best. If they're good with people and at talking, they could get elected easily. It doesn't mean that they're going to be "the best," at being the presidant.
Yeah, I know the Queen is
Yeah, I know the Queen is just for show ;)
That is also a very good point; actually, I support voting for a leader.
For a bit of history, in the early years of Islam, like up until the year 41, they did do that; however, unlike the presidents of today who stay for only a limited term, they were the 'Khalifa's for the rest of their lives. Really, it's a known fact that the 'leaders-through-bloodlines' system was the chief cause of the downfall of nearly all early Muslim systems, so I think we should go back to that...
I've only posted to this because I wanted to argue against the point that all non-democracies are sad, pillaged, downtrodden, and that the rulers of those are cruel dictators. It may be true in some; but then again, that was what got the States into the disastrous Iraq War in the first place. Thankfully, all kings of Saudi Arabia so far have been quite fine (some have been exceptional); I hope it stays that way.
