Meet Mary Lou Finney. Her chaotic family consists of Maggie, her boy-crazy, goony sister; her whiny spoiled 4-year-old brother Tommy; Dennis, who's constantly getting in trouble; and Dougie, her skinny, quiet brother who's convinced that he's "just a poor little slob."
Nonetheless, Mary Lou is convinced that her coming summer is going to boring, despite her crazy family. When her English teacher gives them an over-the-vacation assignment to keep a journal, Mary Lou thinks she's crazy -- who would want to read about her?
But when Mary Lou's cousin Carl Ray Finney shows up "looking for a job" although he "doesn't rightly know" what he's looking for, the summer becomes anything but boring. Besides her crazy family, Mary Lou now has to worry about Carl Ray's weird history, and her first crush.
"Absolutely Normal Chaos" is interesting, honest, and hilarious. It is a book everyone definately MUST read.
