I don't really think you want to hear the beginning of my year. It was nothing special just boring where I only had one friend to begin with. I don't want to bore you with details, which by the way I'm great at getting into, but I don't want you to be completely clueless so I'll just sum it up a bit.
I started in October and I didn't know a dang thing about the school, or anyone in it. Cara was my first friend, but we had only one stupid little class together. Then who should come along but, Taryn. In one science class she came up to me with Kate (who I hated at the time) and started talking. Kate made a quick escape when I didn't pay any attention to her. She didn't leave or anything she just stepped aside, and waited for Taryn. So did how me and Kate become friends? Well Taryn got us to be science partners for EVERY SCIENCE EXPERIMENT! I even remember the first sentences we spoke to one another: 'You bored?' 'Yes.'
That is not much but well now that grew to paragraphs and then conversations. So after that theres not much more, just because then Kate introduces me to the others.
Yeah, so like I said pretty boring beginning of the year. But then again most good stories start out like that, a boring beginning. Well not this story. I'm just gonna jump right there in the middle of the year and get on with the story.

"Katie, why do you read that stuff?" I asked Katie.
Katie looked up from her book about the elements. Which, between you and me, I found pretty amusing. "I don't know."
Kate rolled her eyes and got back to the puzzle we were working on, "OH! Those five missing pieces are starting to get on my nerves."
Kate is the tomboy like I said, but really I think she could pass for a boy. She never brushes her hair, which is brown and-what I like to call- booshy (Boo-sh-ee). She wears glasses too. Also seeing her in pants is supposed to be a rare occasion. I don't believe it.
Katie now she's somethin' else. She is a girlie-girl. Right, well she is also smart. Almost always reading the stuff she was reading now. And she has no idea why she is our friend. That's dumb right? Not that Katie's dumb 'cuse she certainty isn't, it's just isn't it strange to have friends that you're constantly arguing with and you're still friends with them for no good reason? Well, anyway, she sounds like a nerd trying to fit in, so you might think she looks like one too. No. She's a blondey, with blue eyes. Can't get any simpler.
"Katie," I said putting a hand on her shoulder, "you know too much for your own good."
"I'll take that as a complement." Remarked Katie and she picked up a puzzle piece and stuffed it in the right hole.
"That makes four pieces to get aggravated over." Kate said awknolgeing the piece Katie put in.
I shoved in a few pieces myself, but found that I started listening to something that wasn't there most of the time.
I didn't know what it was, but all of a sudden I heard a loud THUMP!
"What was that?" I asked.
"What was what?" said Kate.
THUMP!
"That?"I repeated.
"Whats that?" Katie asked me.
"Listen." I told them.
THUMP!
Me, Kate, and Katie looked at one another.
THUMP!
"Do you think (THUMP!) someone's in the attic." Kate asked after a while.
The thumping grew louder and louder until it sounded like a gunshot. Though, no one else seemed to be bothered by it. In fact no one else seemed to hear it.
