A Broken Dream

in over her head

June 14th, 2008

A teardrop hits the water,
shatters the reflection of a world
lived only in my mind.

Where Lady Love walks free among us
Greeting strangers on their way,
Where painted skies mark beginnings,
and ends.

In this world the birds and crickets
symphonize each night.
In perfect Harmony,
You and I lay side by side
drenched in sweet moonlight
watching stars and silver clouds,
Love dances nearby.
Peaceful, beautiful.

But as another raindrop falls
on the world I seek to find,
my eyes, like underwater, see
it come and pass me by.

I slowly turn and walk away,
the last brilliant sky turns to grey.
