The next day, Bernisa went over to her neighbors house to see how they were faring. "Mrs. Jeffory? Mr. Jeffory? A-are you here?" she asked. "They went out to see what Tushunat is like. So. What are you doing here?" She turned around and saw Lionel, then took a step back. "I-I came to see how your family is doing. But I see the furniture in and a nice thing, because I thought you wouldnt fit in." She looked at her feet.
"I dont fit in. My parents do. We moved here because of all the trouble I was causing in Liffel. They thought this was a good place to settle." He stared at her. "I happen to think so too." She blushed. As she turned around to leave, he said, "Dont come over anymore. This isnt a good place to be. Especially at night. See ya." She left looking confused.
