As I expected nothing happend for a while that is. Yes finaly something happend at school during flex while we were at the library. To this day I can't even describe the joy that I felt when Kate agreed to keep up the search. I supose I have to tell you what happend.
Five 5th graders packed together in one library is bad enough. But try five 5th grade friends, packed together in one library, looking for the paranormal. That's a little different.
Kate was pulling out books from the shelf then stareing at them expectantly as if waiting for them to fly back on the shelf. I don't know why she was doing that.
Chelsea picked out some random book and tryed to read it, but found herself stareing out the window at a tree.
Taryn and Katie worked together whispering things like questions to an A, B, C book with the whole alphabet on the back. I think it was something like a makeshift Oijia Board.
Me well I didn't expect anything I just sat there looking at boring old chapter books that gave people nothing to be excited about.
That's when it happend. I didn't hear anything until an icy hand was placed on my shoulder. I heard a raspy voice in my ear and spun around. There was a girl. Seventeen, puffyish hair and she was holding something. The pearl necklace that I had found that afternoon. She gave me a sad look and mouthed the words 'Help me.'
I stared at her and then gave a shakey reply, "W-w-we wi-will."
That was all she needed to hear. She grasped my hand and layed the necklace in my hand. Then she dissapeard like mist in front of me.
