Alexandria/ICG in ICE CREAM LAND! which is located somewhere in......Uh..... ICE CREAM LAND! |
We followed the sign which said where the arrivals had to go. We then got outside, people were waiting for family members, friends, anyone.
"How are we suppose to know which person is the lady who's going to take us?" Annie asked.
"Ma said that, the lady's name is Frieda Johns, and she's holding up a sign that says our names on it." I replied.
We all searched, there were people holding signs that say, welcome home! Or JESSIE COLLINS. I guess that person is looking for a person named: Jessie Collins.
We searched, and searched, but it seems that we couldn't find a sign that says our names on it.
Then, we saw a limo pull over.
Everyone froze to observe.
Then, a lady came out. She was dressed formal. Not too fancy. She had a summer dress on with flats.
Then the driver gave her a sign, the sign printed:
Sarah, Annie, Harry, Jenna, and Louie.
That's Mrs. Frieda Johns.
We scurried toward her, everyone else outside was staring at us.
"You're Sarah, Annie, Harry, Jenna, and Louie, right?" She asked.
I nodded.
"My Ma says you’re a designer!" Annie said.
Mrs. Frieda Johns nodded.
"Well, come on inside, and take a seat. I need you guys to put your suit cases in the back seat." She said.
We climbed in.
Once we were all seated comfy, the driver went.
"So, I hear your friends with Mrs. White." I said.
"Uh, well, not necessarily." She replied.
"Why?" Annie asked.
"Well, when we were in high school, we were really good friends. Until got all the money and became a foolish donkey!"
"What' she do?" Harry asked.
"She started going out with her boyfriends, and with her rich, greedy friends. She left me all alone. But then, I became a successful designer, and she became-became a Mortgage company person." She said.
"Wow." Jenna said.
"Well, we still talk, but she got jealous of me and I took her dream job."
"Well, enough about me let me know something about you kids." Mrs. Johns said.
"Well, my name is Sarah. I'm turning sixteen in twenty six days, and I'm going to work for you, and...I guess that’s all you need to know about me." I said.
"My REAL name is Annette Marie, but I HATE that name. It’s so "Fancy" and long. I don't like it. Just call me Annie. And I'm ten years old, turning eleven in July!"
"My REAL name is Jenna Lyn, but I don't like it when people say the LYN part. I just like Jenna. And I’m five years old!"
"My name is Harry Cole Marshal. I'm six years old. And just call me Harry."
"Uh, this is Louie; he's a baby, two years old." I said.
"Oh, he's very cute. Does he talk?" Mrs. Johns asked.
I shooed my head.
"But he's two years old!? I was saying sentences when I was two!" Mrs. Johns said.
"He only mumbles." Annie said.
"Do you go to school?" Mrs. Johns asked.
We all shook our heads.
Mrs. Johns was surprised and shocked.
"H-h-how do you children get an education!? Do you even know your multiplications???"
"Mrs. Johns, we are homeschooled. My mother took me out of school once Annie was born. She needed someone to take care of the baby. But, then came Harry, then Jenna, then Louie. I haven't gone to school in about ten years! We've all been homeschooled by my mother or father." I explained.
Mrs. Johns still was shocked.
"How'd you children expect to go to college? To be successful?!"
"Well, we never thought anything about college. But, I’m in a high school level right now. I'm suppose to be in 10th grade. My Ma never said or spoke anything about college or university." I said.
"Well, I’m going to see if I can get Harry or Jenna or Annie in a school, they need a-" Mrs. Johns said.
"No, no, no, that wont be necessary, Mrs. Johns. We only came here because Mrs. White hates children and I needed a job. And besides, I don’t have enough money to pay for school." I said.
"Sweetie, I’ll pay, I insist! These children can't go on living without education!" Mrs. Johns exclaimed.
I sighed.
"Ok, I’ll have to write to Ma and ask her." I mumbled.
We were all quiet.
The limo was silent until Mrs. Johns said,
"Ok, we're here! Welcome to your new home!"
