My Opinion

I'm a pretty tough cookie to please when it comes to reading material, however, this book left me gushing with praise! This book I would highly reccomend to readers age 9+ and to all school teachers. This book has some mild trauma though so I suggest you be careful when reading this to young children.

Summary

Esperanza is treated like a princess in her wealthy family. Living on her fathers ranch in Mexico, Esperanza is spoiled, having never worked a day in her life, and believing her life will always be perfect. However when an unexpected event of violence upsets her life, she and her mother are soon forced to immigrate to America. From there, they move to California to work. Soon, Esperanza starts to open her eyes and begins to realize the more important things in her life

Conclusion

This heart warming tale of a girl whose life was thrown from a princess to a pauper during the great depression is an invigorating and inspiring tale for all! Five Stars! *****!
