Karissa (KIRA) Uh... Who Am I? in a hissy fit and screaming like a kid |
July 8th, 2008
I dont know many of the people on KidPub, but here goes: P.S. This is about the coordinatr, Smiley. Enjoy!
Smiley walked down Amish Avenue. She looked at the bleak houses, and walked into her own bleak house. The walls inside were green, and there were flowers everywhere. She walked into her room, where she fit in best. She sat down at her computer to play Solitaire. A screen popped up out of nowhere, and said, "ARE YOU READY? You have chosen to represent your town in the World Writing Competition! You have to write a story about a lonely little girl who has memory loss after a near-fatal accident! The winner will get a ticket to any concert of their choice, second plae winner will get $500 and third place, a Maroon Five CD. If you join, please send your entry to 555 Berin Lane in Los S Angeles, California!"
Smiley heard a door close and printed out the pop-up. "MOM! Look!" She ran down the stairs to her mother in the clean kitchen. She showed her mother the contest pop-up. "I'm sorry, but you cant enter this contest. It may be a scam." Smiley shook her head. "It's not a scam! I know it! I want to enter it!" Smiley's mother shook her head. "I'm sorry, but no." Smiley stomped, then went to her room and slammed her door. She locked it, knowing her mother had no key. She went to her bed and screamed. "This is so not fair! I want to to enter that- maybe I could." She looked at her computer. She grinned. She ran to it, and started typing furiously. About two hours later, she sat up on her computer, satisfied. She was going to enter that contest, no matter what her mother said.
She looked at the pop-up again, and found an email address. She sent it, and sat back in her chair. I am so brilliant, she thought.
Three weeks later...
Smiley opened her mailbox and looked at the mail. She saw a piece of mail for her, along with some bills. She stuffed her letter in her backpack then went inside. "Is there any mail for me?" her mother asked. "Just bills," Smiley answered. She ran to her room and opened the letter. "To Whom it may concern," it began. "You are the winner of the WWC. Your tickets are located under this letter in the envelope." She held the envelope up-side down, and two tickets fell out. She had sent in her favorite band the day she emailed the entry. She hugged the tickets to her. "O told her it wasnt a scam," she whispered.
The End.
