“What happened?” called Kagetada to Ookami.

“I was swinging across when a spike popped out suddenly and cut the rope,” Ookami replied.

“What’s down there?” asked Kagetada.

“I am standing on a narrow ledge of rock. One misstep and I will fall to my death into a black abyss. While I try to climb out, you devise a way to help me. Oh, and look and see what the next trial is,” Ookami said, now surveying the area he was in.

Kagetada opened the stone door, looking at the death traps that awaited them. He looked around, seeing nothing but stonewall. He knelt down to see if there were any more spikes. He felt the ground, still looking up. But all he felt was air! Kagetada saw nothing but blackness, stretching on for what seemed like forever.

“Uh…Ookami? I don’t think we can go this way,” Kagetada called back. No answer replied to him.

“Ookami?” Kagetada called. He ran over to the gaping hole which Ookami fell into. He almost fell in himself out of surprise. Ookami was gone!
