Keron made a big show of stretching and bending, “Keron, you better get in motion before I kill you.”

            One more charming grin and he became serious. Looking about to make sure the guard was elsewhere, he bent down, loosened a bar from the line that separated the two cells. Sliding through, he picked up a nail and began to pick the lock.

            “Gawd, I’m glad that this isn’t a complicated lock.” He muttered as one sprang open and he started on the other.

            “Now what?” Nacata asked as she rubbed her free wrists.

            “Follow me.” Aiming a kick, he popped one of the grid windows out. Nacata only stared. “You gonna wait with your mouth hanging open? C’mon.” He slipped out the window and whispered back to Nacata, “All clear.”

            Nacata gracefully slid out, but wasn’t prepared for the drop and slipped. Fortunately, Keron was positioned under her and looked up in time to catch her.

“Well, how you became a rogue I don’t know,” he teased her, “Didn’t they teach you to watch your surroundings?”

            “Yeah, I just…” A light blush spread across her face, “Thanks,” she mumbled as he set her down. For a moment, their eyes caught, time seemed to pass slower, but this feeling was shattered by a shout from above.

            “We should go.”

            “Right,” Nacata snapped back to.

            “C’mon,” Keron grabbed her hand and they ran for the nearest roof.
