Sleepy Morning

by Kavalnain

You wake up in the morning

Still sleepy from the previous night

Your mind yawns

Your heart awakes

Your thoughts drift away from

Your dream

As you slip out of bed

Leaving the warm blanket behind

Your pillow looks at you

Smiling

It teases you to come back

Sink into it and sleep

You blink a few times

No

You're going to get up

And start the day

Your legs move

Slow and weak

Your eyelids droop

Begging to close

You put in your breakfast

Some misses the bowl

You clean it up

But end up doing the same with the milk

The food crunches in your mouth

You barely notice

Staring at your food

It's finished

Tossing your trash away

You sit on the couch

Trying to stay awake

Your body is still tired

Your legs sink in

Your arms next

Then your back

It feels so good

You decide to lie down

On the couch

It's so comforting

So soft

Your mind settles

Your heart beats sweetly

You feel content

And still sleepy

Your eyes close

Just for a second

And before you know it

You're asleep
