Love Your Band

Tomorrow is the last day

I’m sore, I’m tired

But it’s all worth it

The hours, the work,

The time given up

To be a better person

A better performer.

It’s hard,

It’s tough

But I will never give up

Because Band is

What I chose to do

And I love to be in it.

I love to march on the field

I love the feeling

Of completing the show

And having hundreds

Congratulating you.

I love knowing that

I have another family

One that I can always turn to,

My band family, my friends

Who will be there for me

And know what I’m

Going through.

So tomorrow is the last day

Of Band Camp

But not the last day

Of Band.

We have to keep going,

Keep pushing to the end

Can’t give up

Never stop pushing ourselves

We can never stop

Marching,

Being honest

Respecting others,

Taking responsibility,

Having compassion for others.

Band is not just

Another class in school

To get a good grade in,

Band is not just

Another sport to

Keep you busy,

Band is not just

Another thing to

Worry about in your life,

Another thing to practice.

Band is learning

How to be better in what you do

How to be a better person

About learning

Self-control and discipline

Band is learning

About being a respectful person

Knowing what

Honor and pride

Really feel like

And most of all

Band is learning about how

To maintain a friendship

With many people

From many different backgrounds.

Love what you do

Love your Bandos

But most importantly,

Love your band…
