Oh tree! In winter
Bare and old
You stand naked
In the cold
Your wrinkled bark
Of brown or gray
Adds darkness to
The dreary day
Oh tree! In spring
Your colors true
Deck you young
And good as new
You wave your arms
When breezes pass
And dance across
The dewy grass
Oh tree! In summer
Green and strong
You dwell in woods
Where you belong
You stretch your branches
Way up high
And brush the clouds
Oh tree! In fall
When strong winds pass
You shed your clothes
Upon the grass
They coat the ground
In golden stacks
And call to winter
Welcome back!
Oh tree!
