Chapter 15:
She whipped around in fright. A dark-haired boy with intent brown eyes was snarling at her.
Being the strong dominant (though previous) princess she was, she asked back rudely, “What’s your problem?”, placing her hands on her hips.
It was true – Julie didn’t want to make enemies during the first day of school, but this guy was too much. Couldn’t he see everyone else was trying to push their way to read the list of names, too?
The boy looked surprised for the briefest of seconds and replied back, sarcastically, “Didn’t you hear? That deaf, huh, Peterson? My problem is, your blocking my way!”
Rolling her eyes, Julie moved and walked away without looking back.
“What’s that dude’s problem, sheesh!”, she muttered angrily.
“I never knew that there were people like THAT in this world”, she mused. Then she sighed, “I guess I never knew a lot of things when I was cooped up inside the palace”.
Then without looking, she bumped into someone. It was a teacher and his id card read ‘Mr. Hamilton’.
“Whoa there, young miss”, he smiled down at her.
“Hello Miss Peterson, 7th in the class. How was your holidays? Did you study and work on your holiday homework’s?”
But Julie was focused only on the first sentence. She was ultimately shocked. “7th?! 7th?! 7th?!”, those were her thoughts that were tumultuously crashing over each other in her momentarily frozen mind.
“Excuse me but did you say ‘7th’?”, she said timidly at last finding her voice.
“Did you forget about your report card, already, Miss Peterson?”, he asked good-humouredly but sharply.
“Uh… report card?”, wondered Julie out loud. “What is that?”, she thought to herself as the teacher started to speak again.
“So you had. Tut-tut, I had thought better of you, young Miss. You NEED to improve on your studies.”
Julie was speechless. "What?"
