Meet Clara. She's pretty, she'spoiled. But that all changed one summer during her vacation. And this particular vacation was something one never expected.
It all starts here, the day after the last day of school.Clara's parents are sending her on a safari in the heart of Africa.Clara,of course, hated this because there were no malls, there were no civilization,it was just filled with icky animals. She thought that she would be bored, and she probably would, but she wasn't thinking about that. All that she was thinking about was when her week-long safari was over and she got to go back home.Clara had also hated Jane Goodall and any of her work,so she was bound not to like wildllife. But this soon would change.
"Mom,please don't make me go on that trip!I hate wildlife. It's so disgusting!"
"Well",Clara's mom said,"that's just the reason why you're leaving on that trip. You need to find that part of you that has passion for cute little monkeys and,...and tigers. You do know that some of their species is endangered."
"Mom,that's my point!I don't want some smelly, hair covered animal crawling up in my lap! This is totally ridiculous!I bet dad won'dt make me go.He's the one who let's me buy those faux fur coats!"
"Honey, faux is pronounced like foe,not fox. And,your dad agreed that you should experience the real world around you.The city isn't everything."
"Mom,the city is everything. It's where civilized humans thrive, where all fun things like teen clubs and shopping malls are.Where I live, where you live, where the Robinson family lives.Besides, the city wouldn't be exciting without me.I was born in New York, and I plan to keep my faith of "I LOVE NEW YORK" and "THE CITY IS EVERYTHING" strong, and if you don't like that, shame on you! This place provides all we'll ever need, and clearly, you don't understand that. But anyways, back to safari thing, the only time I will ever want to see or do things with animals is when they are locked up tight in bars."
Clara stormed away, not looking back.As she walked away, she muttered under her breath. She was confused. Why were her parents sending her to Africa when they had never done that before? What was Africa like?Could she ever get out of this situation?
