CHAPTER #3
MORGAN
"Who, who are you?" Josh managed to say.
"My name is Morgan. Just Morgan." the voice said above him.
Josh sat up, slowly, but successfully.
"Where are my friends? They were here with me, last time I checked..." Josh wondered.
Josh looked around. He was confused, his friends would probably notice the fall, and rush over to help him. They wouldn't just run away and let a girl help him, would they? And last time he checked, there wasn't anybody else on the beach.
"Your friends? Oh, your friends saw you fall of that terrible wave, oh, yes they did. Who could miss it?! But, I saw it from that building at the top of the hill and, before your friends could come in after you, I was already in there!" she exclaimed.
"Where are they now?"
"They are finding more help...it looks like you might need some stitches on your upper lip." she said pointing at his cut open lip.
Josh cautiously touched his upper lip, but concluded with wincing and pulling his hand back with pain.
"I, I guess so." he mumbled softly.
"Hum hum!" she laughed a smooth, calm laugh.
"Hey! He's over there! There he is!" yelled Greg from over the hill.
"OH MY GOSH! JOSH!" screamed his mother from over the hill.
She was with a bunch of men, probably from the hospital, and going to bring him to the hospital.
"Wait, before I go, ummm...why were you in the building? Isn't that the..." asked Josh.
"The orphanage? Yeah. I'm an orphan. That's why I don't know my last name. Because I don't even know where I'm from!"
"Oh."
"Is there a problem?" Morgan asked intently.
"No! I just, didn't expect-" Josh rushed, they were getting closer.
"Didn't expect an orphan to save your life and be this, this, nice?"
"I'm sorry! Can I see you again sometime? What's your name again?" they were nearly there next to him now.
"Maybe. My name is Morgan."
The people from the hospital were next to him now.
She got up from the warm sand and started running towards the orphanage...and halfway there, she turned, smiled a pearly white smile, and waved.
