Well shield penetrates the sword or any weapon, and a sword is a weapon that injures. So if a shield saves your life a sword wouldn't a sword could lead to...death? That's what I think:)
I'm not sure, but, well, okay, so life is the shield... Shields are used to shield from swords, so what might be in direct, or indirect conflict with life? If it is related to romance, it could be that the person is trying to be all dramatic like those people who write songs and such about how love sucks, but they're doing it more dramatically. So the sword could be love... Dunno, just a try :D
Every person's life is a fairytale written by God's fingers ~ Hans Christian Anderson
So your saying that that person is on love with the other, but they're trying to fight it off and/or don't want to admit it?
-"Talent does not replace hardwork, when talent is hardly working."
That's the vibe I got. I thought it had to do something with Life too. But then you said something along the lines of how it related to romance, and then I wasn't so sure. I think that's what they meant, or that maybe love's the shield, instead of the sword. Since a sword can penetrate the heart, like how love penetrates the soul. But then...wouldn't that be an arrow and bow? Anyway, to continue with my theory. I think that loves the shield instead of the sword, and that the love's shielding the person because they don't know if they are really in love. Instead of striking out and admitting it. Or showing it to the person they like...or something like that...
The magic exists...
So your saying the love is the shield, and the love/shield is protecting them from actually realizing that they are in love?
-"Talent does not replace hardwork, when talent is hardly working."
Basically, instead of striking out with the "sword".
The magic exists...
I think it means that if we spend our whole life sheltered from things, we won't be able to fight back against the bad things. For example, if there's a kid who was raised really well by his parents and taught to never fight with other people, then if he ges picked on by a bully he won't be able to stand up from himself. Get it?
Say no to drugs. Say yes to tacos.~A shirt I saw somewhere.
It means, what is strong enought that it can penetrate life. What is one force that can bring down cities, start battles, what would people kill far. Or, what could kill us Love. It's like the poem 'the face that launched a thousand ships and buil the topeless towers'
People, it's not a bass. It's not a guitar. It's cello! Can you get with the program????
Well, this has nothing to do with love or romance, but, um, maybe the sword is the unfamiliar. Because life is often monotonous and predictable, and as long as you're alive, you know that some things can happen and some things can't. Not that you can predict the future, but there's a certain reality to it that's comforting. But once you aren't alive, that's totally unfamiliar territory.
Yer, death would work for the sword thing. Put i've always heard that death is a good, peaceful thing, at the right time... and well getting injured isn't really a good thing so i dunno. If its in relation to romance, maybe love is our shield as well as life because some peoples life can just be about their love and passion for someone/thing and beacause it had the power to conquer anything when we put our minds to it and i dunno maybe, Hatred is the sword? Because hatred is an equally passionate emotion and can easily warp peoples minds into a worse form that what it was before felling hate, and can penetrate the stable walls of love easily. But thats just a guess, im completely uncertain.
'K, wait, doesn't the quote say that life is the shield? I thought the question was what the sword was.
